About this Costume
Construction Details:
Bodysuit:
Made of a 4 way stretch matte spandex. I used my same pattern I used for my original Harley Quinn costume from back in 09. There is an invisible zipper up the back that hides in the seam that is red to black. The diamonds on the suit are made of vinyl, the same vinyl I used for the boot covers. The gloves I made from the spandex as well.

Cowl:
I made several cowls this time around with my spandex. This is the animated series one. The cones are slightly arched like the cartoon version. I stuffed them with craft batting to hold their shape. The cowl has a Velcro closure at the neck to make it easy to get into especially after having the makeup put on.

Boot covers:
The boot covers are made of vinyl. They are just shaped like her shoes and I wear ballet flats inside them.

Collar and cuffs:
The collar was made of polyester. It has an invisible zipper up the back seam. The cuffs were made with 2.5 inch wide ribbon and elastic. I had to hand sew the ribbon on manually in certain areas to keep it tacked on the elastic.

Mask:
It’s made of leather, water formed to my face. It was then dyed black and coated with a gloss sealer.

Makeup:
My sister did the makeup for this. We used Snazaroo white face makeup for the base.
Personal Thoughts:
I have already made the classic Harley once, and I made it from stretch velvet. I wanted a spandex one as well so I remade it. This way I was able to make various cowls for different versions of the character throughout the comics and figure/doll lines as well.
