About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Mostly followed fattogami's sailor fuku construction tutorial (on tumblr) in conjunction with a Japanese pattern booklet.
Back half of skirt waistband is elastic so it sits high and comfy on the waist.
Back half of shirt has secret snaps so it looks more fitted but I can still get it over my head. Grommets were hammered in for the lacing on the front of the shirt.
Worked on this every weekend for a few months. But mostly I just ate cake and had coffee breaks with my friend who cosplayed as Usagi. - Personal Thoughts:
- This was my second time using a sewing machine and it looks pretty decent. I am probably going to wear this until I die.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- Ri-tied ponytail to be higher. Cut and styled the bangs, sewed in long wefts for the side thingies. Used long curly clip instead of the ponytail clip that comes with the wig. Painted clear twin bead hair baubles with nail polish (worked surprisingly well).
- Wig Review
- First time using a wig from Arda. Great fiber quality, very pleased!
