About this Costume
Construction Details:
[wig info isn't showing, so at the bottom of this section] Like my other Anna costume, I tried to match as much as I could to what was on-screen and in episode stills, although I had a guess a lot more with the seams this time and even what was going on with the outfit in general (it took me two seasons to figure out it was a wrap skirt and a top with a vest)! I did used a combination of French seams, top-stitching, blind hems, and rolled hems, depending on what I could discern from the stills. The fabric is the closest I could find in matching the embossed flowers (another thing you can only see in the show when the lighting is just right) and the type of fabric. It's a Special Occasion Jacquard fabric from Hancock's. The black undershirt is a polyester blend that's probably not historically accurate, but it's close to what she wears in the show. The skirt is patterned after a wrap skirt I own, adjusting for 1920's appropriate length (I'm the same height as the actress so it works out nicely lol). The shirt I modified from a basic shirt pattern, patterning the collar myself. The vest I patterned by hand as well. The buttons were made by me but they are the worse I ever made with buttons covers whoops. I am pretty sure that in the show, the costume has snaps under the fake buttons but I don't need them so I left them out. I did add snaps in the vest to the shoulders of the shirt. While they slide a little on the show, it was sliding off my left shoulder every time I moved for some reason unknown to me lol. The shoes are actually dance shoes, Women's Capezio Dance Jr. Footlight T-Straps. That's the closest I could find to be screen accurate. Used tights as that's what the actress wears. I don't know what kind of '20s corset thingy she has on, so I'm just wearing a sports bra to flatten slightly.

nWig info isn't showing so I'll copy it here: Wig is from Wig is Fashion: 26" Long Curly Blonde Lace Front Synthetic Hair Wig LF323. I had a lot of trouble settling on the color. This is my first lace front wig actually (and interestingly enough, the actress wore a wig for Series 5 so it all works out lol - I used my real hair for my other Anna costume for the seasons where the actress did as well). I created the part and styled the front and rolled the sides and then made two braids and are mostly pinned in place (as it was on the show) with jumbo hairpins and sewn in a few strategic places.
Personal Thoughts:
Anna is my most favorite character of time, and I thought that I ought to do an outfit from once she's a lady's maid. She technically begins wearing this at the end of S4, but I went with S5 for the hair, as I knew I needed a wig for the later seasons and the actress did wear a wig for S5 lol.
