About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used fuchsia cotton velvet + powermesh, dark brown dull poly satin, iridescent gold taffeta, white heavyweight cotton/ poly poplin, and white double knit for most of the costume. Corset is boned part with steel, part with sturdy plastic, and laces in the back with a ribbon. Skirt is a straight pleat. The little hat is made with buckram, millinery wire, lots of E6000, and attached with two small hair clips. The stockings were pinstriped by yours truly! I sewed them out of fuchsia power mesh, then sewed tiny 1/4" velvet ribbon to them to make the stripes. The topper is a contoured band of bias cut cotton velvet, backed with sticky silicone elastic. I sewed nude-color English net into the topper so I could attach the "floating" gold detail.
Personal Thoughts:
I've been drooling over Sakizou's art for years. When my friend Sushimonster put together a Sakizo group for Fanime, IT WAS TIME.

Bright effin' fuchsia ringmaster! Fun fact: Sakizo has designed 3 - all very different - Mont Blanc girls. It's fun to see the confusion on people's faces when they realize I'm not dressed as the other one or two they've seen.
