About this Costume
Construction Details:
Ugh, spandex. I both love and hate it at the same time. Everything was going pretty well until I did the gold trim at the bottom of the top, which resulted in the top being shorter than I wanted and I'm still mad the gold won't lay flat. But yes, the top, pants, undershirt, cowl, and arm bands are all made of matte 4-way-stretch spandex. The gloves are store bought I've used for many costumes. Armor pieces are craftfoam with plastic styrene on top. I made the cowl a separate piece just so I could take it off and also do that variant as well with a wig (though I ended up not really doing that one around con as I had too much fun wearing the crown).
Personal Thoughts:
Last year when I made a spandex commission from Young Justice, I kinda got obsessed with the desire to want to do my own spandex super hero costume. XD But there really wasn't anyone in the super hero world that I liked enough to do. Then I read Journey Into Mystery and instantly fell in love with Kid Loki and I've been dying to cosplay him ever since. I'm still VERY self conscious of how I look in this as spandex has always been something I've been afraid to wear and I have days where I want to totally scrap this thing. XD But I'm glad I got the courage to do it in the end...even if my personality is like the total opposite of Loki's.
