Construction Details:

Owari is probably one of the easiest costumes I've done to date. I already had a shirt that would show off cleavage well, all I had to do was shorten and hem the sleeves, and then make a pocket out of the remaining fabric. For her shirt symbol I just used and iron on since my machine won't do embroidery that small without it messing with the fabric.

For the skirt I just followed a simple pleated skirt tutorial.


The wig in the other hand was another story. I never want to see a can of hairspray again.

Personal Thoughts:

When I got to reading SDR2 I instantly fell in love with Akane . She's very well written and I can related to her character a lot. This was a very fun costume to make and wear for AnimeNEXT 2013. I did however earn a new nickname over the weekend.

I earned the nickname of "boobies"

Not sure how to feel about that

Styling Notes

It was a Magnum long cut and styled to look like Akane's hair. I sectioned off different areas, rolled them in curlers, and sprayed them to death. Once out of the curlers, I used fabric glue to clean up the tips so they were pointed.
