Construction Details:

The dress is made from a poly-cotton blend, pattern drafted and made by myself. The design on the dress is black suede, ironed on with heat n' bond. The wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs, and shoulder pads are made from fake fur. The tail is made from two different kind of fake fur, stripes painted on with acrylic paint and then carefully brushed out to give it a more realistic look. It was then stuffed with a few layers of quilt batting and a wire to add stability. I then made a pair of little booty short out of spandex in the same color of the dress to attach the tail to. The ears are latex faun ears purchased from Aradani studious that I then painted darker on the inside and covered the outside in a black velvet material. The shoes were cheap sandals I bought and removed a set of straps from. The body stripes were painted on using Ben Nye Magicake Aqua paints. The pendant was made from scukpy and painted with silver metallic paint and red nail polish for the gem stone part.

Personal Thoughts:

Escaflowne was one of the first series I ever watched when I got into anime, but had never considered cosplaying from. However, once mostflogged asked/suggested I be Merle, I wondered how I never thought of it before. Plus I got to cosplay more with her, how could I not?

Styling Notes

I cut the bangs and blowdried them with a bit of poof in the bangs.
