About this Costume
Personal Thoughts:
Oh god I can't believe I made this. Got pulled into a Queen's Blade group and I chose Menace since I think she's so cute! Yes, cute.

Skimpy costumes take the longest to make...

Collar is entirely craft foam, and was the first thing I made. I had a lot of fun making the "keys" out of thick 5 mm craft foam, the petals in between with painted pleather, and the petals on top out of more thin 3mm craft foam. The paint is just acrylics, and I got to try out weathering techniques for it. The top part of the collar is also just craft foam, painted dark blue and black, and it closes in the back with velcro.

The panties are an altered bikini that I cut the sides off of, and tied gold rings to, and painted the blue stripes on with acrylic paint. The white sleeve fabric is just bleached white muslin, which I thought made the most sense since Menace is supposed to be Egyptian, Asian? and it fit with the mummy thing.

The leg straps are made of brown pleather I already had, just tied around my legs and pinned with bobby pins. The shoes were from Goodwill, and had the straps cut off, painted the soles brown, and hotglued white fabric to the front strap. They're really comfy, and my butt needs that boost to lengthen my legs.

The wig is my old ratty Homura/Yukiko wig reused and cut into Menace's bob style. It took me 2 hours to trim it right, and I love that I just reused a wig instead of buying a new one.

The crown. The CROWN is a work of art. I'm proud, and I'm amazed it worked. It's basically all craft foam, just painted cleverly. The big U shape is thick craft foam and holds its stiffness really well. The snake is a ball of aluminum foil with model Magic airdry clay wrapped around it, sanded when it was dry, and painted with acrylics. Everything on the snake is Model Magic. The crown is slightly weathered to match the appearance of the collar.

The blue undershirt I purposely made to COVER my chest since I simply do not have knockers like Menace's, and do NOT feel comfortable wearing the collar just as she does.

Overall this costume was pretty easy to make, and required very few materials to buy. Most of the fabric is just from my fabric stash. This is honestly going to be scary as hell to wear to cons, but it's just more motivation to keep going to the gym! :D
