About this Costume
Construction Details:
the dress is a bought nurse outfit from a thriftshop, at the time I had no sewing machine, so its fit is a bit loose, unfortunately. I then covered it with latex, and washed over it/spray bottled it with various watered down acrylics. The same method was used for the hat.
The mask was sculpted onto a plaster head that I made a mold of, then filled with liquid latex and left overnight. I then poured the excess latex out, let it finish drying, and painted it with pax (a mi of pros-aid and acrylic paint) and airbrushed the details.
Personal Thoughts:
When I started makeup school I knew from the start that when I got to the prosthetic section of the course, I was making a nurse mask. I had made a pretty lame one for halloween a few years earlier, but wanted to make a really amazing one since now I had all the tools to do it! Coolest part was that my teacher had worked on the SH movie, so he could give me really great feedback and show me his own methods.
Other than the shoot we got to do at school, I only ever wore it to one convention, because it's near impossible to see out of.
