Construction Details:

I love matte satin yes I doooo~ Because I couldn't find the print I wanted for Mother Gothel, I decided to go with this dark red satin that wasn't too shiny and had a good weight and feel to it. I lined the dress sleeves with a dark golden satin and I didn't have time to do the starbursts on it and, frankly, I'd rather leave it plain if the outside didn't have a design either. The neck is trimmed with a black braided trim with gold loops throughout it, the belt sash has "antique" gold [aka not super shiny gold] braided trim all around it, and the sleeves are trimmed with a thin gold braid. I didn't have the time or funds to make the cloak I wanted but my friend let me borrow her black velvet cloak and for that I'm grateful for! It was really cold and windy Saturday so this saved my butt a dozen times. The flower was going to glow but, again, time and money got in the way so I let it be. Painted my nails a deep red for class 8D

This was actually my first time sewing a dress like this and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The sleeves were a hint of a challenge but I was like "PFT. LONG HAIR DUN CARE" so I just went with the flow and they turned out nicely. Princess seams are my friend
