About this Prop
- Construction Details:
-
I constructed my own pattern for the head and body. I had left-over yellow and turquoise fleece lying around so I didn't have to buy anything extra. I also had a lot of left-over polyfill stuffing. He also has a zipper in the back so he can carry my belongings during a con. Googly eyes are from JoAnns and I used Tulip fabric paint to draw his mouth and eyebrows. The lantern I constructed to light up with four warm-white straw-hat LEDs, a simple LilyPad brand switch with JST connector from SparkFun and a 110mAh LiPo battery also from SparkFun. The inside of the lantern has reflective backing to spread out the light. The bottom of the lantern has a Velcro opening to access the switch and the battery. The entire lantern is very light and hangs from Drippy's nose with a binder ring.
- Personal Thoughts:
- When I was watching a demo of the game at a friend's house, I instantly was drawn to Drippy and how such a simple shaped character has so much personality. I also love his colors, yellow and turquoise that I had to make him! The official stuff animal was kind of small and I wanted him to be bigger and have his lantern light-up too. I was so excited to solder and work with electronics again!
