About this Costume
Construction Details:
This dress is for the most part finished. I made this dress using a altered version of a Simplicity pattern. Instead of using actual wool I used a polyester blend and for the undersleeves a gold brocade fabric. I didn't have time to embroider the coller so I just applied a ribbon with some basting stitches. I plan to remove it and put the proper embroidery there when I get the time. The medallions on the belt are made from silver pipecleaners and trim. I need to make the second sleeve and I also want to remake the belt as it is supposed to be white and not a pale gold.

Personal Thoughts:
This was my first ever costume so my mother helped me a lot with this construction of this dress. Eowyn is my favorite LOTR character and I have been an avid fan of LOTR even before the films where released. When I saw Eowyn come to life of the big screen I fell in love with all of her outfits and become quiet determined to recreate her dresses. So this one is just the first of hopefully many!
