About this Costume
Construction Details:
Finding fabrics in 4 shades of blue with the right texture, stretch etc was my biggest challenge for Sayaka. After a lot of digging through fabric piles I found a thin pleather for the tube top/skirt flaps, a separate shade of blue pleather for the shoes, lycra for the arm sleeves, and maxima cotton for the skirt. Since most of the materials are pretty matte in color, it made most sense to add a little sparkle through the trim! All of the gold was made using a shiny gold pleather and the white ruffles were done using a sheer shimmery pre-made chiffon ruffle.

I used a heavenly thin 3M transfer adhesive to adhere the shoe covers onto shoes that had the right look and were dirt cheap.

The wigs were purchased off ebay and I don't recall who the sellers were. The light blue wig is for my Live Action Sailor Mercury costume so the style isn't quite right. I purchased another wig which ended up being darker than I wanted but such is the perils of online ordering!
Personal Thoughts:
Had a lot of love and hate moments watching Sayaka through the Madoka Magica series but couldn't help feeling for her tragic end. Also, since she's a blue magical girl (my weakness), the cosplay urges awakened and a new costume was born!
