About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The entire costume consists of a yellow turtleneck, denim jacket, black pleated skirt, pair of boots + striped socks, a wig, and some hair ribbons. Obviously, this is pretty easy to pull together.
The skirt was commissioned on Etsy since I couldn't find one to buy that looked the way I wanted. The turtleneck came from LL Bean. The denim jacket is from Old Navy. The boots are from Famous Footwear. The socks are from Sock Dreams. Wig is an Eowyn in Pumpkin from Arda.
The Eowyn ended up being pretty thin, so I've had to sew in some extra wefts, but that's okay, since I was going to do it anyway to pull two small portions of fiber up in ribbons.
Not really a "required" part of the cosplay, but I'm thinking of making Makoto's little jingle bell bracelet from the end of her story arc. Just some string and two jingle bells. - Personal Thoughts:
- Makoto is one of my favorite characters in Kanon (tied with a couple others), and her story hit me the hardest. I decided to do this cosplay when I realized how simple it was.

- Wig Review
- The wig fibers are gorgeous and soft and the skintop really makes the wig look realistic. Only problem is it's very thin around the back to the point that wefts need to be sewn in for it to be thick enough that netting won't show if you move the fibers even a little out of place.
Not a big deal, though, I was going to sew wefts in anyway.
