About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used cotton on the dress/skirt and old white bedroom sheets for the white of it. The collar is separated and i used it as a designed choker by tieing a ribbon on the back to hold it.The material on her wrist is from old white gloves and black felt. The boots were originally fleece black and spray painted to red and white double coating. The white added on the boots is felt including the symbol. I used polyester for the black bow.I had to hand sew some of this due to my machine going down a couple of times. I'm still new to this but it was fun to make. The spear is made from an old wooden stick I had and it was painted gold. The spear was cut into two triangle Styrofoams and sticked together with wood glue(somehow sticks better) Also the white on the end of the spear is separate Styrofoam pieces. Which I ducked taped over it than spray painted it.
Personal Thoughts:
This costume I decided to do last minute. I wanted to do this for a con that was a month away. Due to low funds, I made the whole costume and spear. I was up until 2a.m. the night before I had to go to con. I plan to finish the whole costume by November for Youmacon. Taking this to Jafax even if it wasn't 100 percent finished was awesome. I loved being this character and battling people with the spear XD I loved meeting all of the madoka magica cosplayers that loved this show as much as I do. Even though I haven't updated my cosplay page in awhile, this is probably my favorite cosplay so far. I'm glad that I pleased the madoka magica fans plus I enjoyed and am proud of what I came up with for this character.
