About this Costume
Construction Details:
Alright, so there really wasn't too much to this as I did this in a very rushed, probably (*cough* definitely) insecure way. The wings were made from translucent fabric and blue bias tape, which I sewed such that a wire could be looped along the edges. The wires for each wing then enter two tiny, reinforced holes in the back of the shirt, looping around a shirt I wore underneath. The crown is fun foam attached to the with with two tiny wires. The wands are fun foam stars that I found at Hobby Lobby, I believe, and I just drilled holes in the bottom to glue them to a dowel rod before gessoing and painting. For the wig, after cutting the curls were made with a combination of floral glue and got2b glued that I slathered over the fibers before rolling them up, in sections, over cylinders that I then pinned to the wig head to dry. It worked relatively well, but it came out a little more tangled than I would've hoped in the back.
Personal Thoughts:
WANDS AND WINGS AND LITTLE CROWNY THINGS. One of my best spontaneous decisions ever.
