Construction Details:

This costume is made out of a 7 yards of bright pink linen.

-The jacket is front faced and partially lined, based off a craaaazzy pattern I drafted.

-The sleeves are interfaced in order to give them the giant puffiness (although, I'll probably go back in and add more interfacing to give them more structure, as I want them to be as over the top as possible, haha).

-The skirt pattern was just a normal pencil skirt pattern that I lengthened to be about three times its original length. Like... a bagillion hours of hand and machine rouching later and the pieces were of the right length. (A word to the wise... Sew your pieces together first, THEN attempt to rouch them. Leave plenty of seam allowance on there, in case you need to let some pieces out, but your sewing machine will be much happier than trying to sew through all that rouching!)

-The shoes were a perfect find from Shoe Carnival! While they aren't screen accurate, they're certainly Effie-esque! Hopefully I'll find the perfect screen accurate pair soon!
