About this Costume
Construction Details:
I have to say this took a LONG time. I spent somewhere around 90+ hours working on this beast. From drawing all the pieces, constructing, patterning the costume than the process of materials and sewing. So many steps. The easiest part and longest part of this was the buttcape thing with all the gold trim on inside and outside. I hand dyed the fabric for it in my sink and gradated it and than used about 100 meters of gold trim in total for the entire costume. The main body part of the costume was the most difficult- I went through about 4 different patterns before I got it right and Im still not fully happy with it. I had sewed all the beads and little bits onto the costume and than strung the rest for the headpieces. Credit to my cats for allowing me to REstring them after I had it finished and they decided to play with it. ^^;;
Personal Thoughts:
Personal challenge. I wanted something detailed and crazy to attempt that was still within my ability and limits but pushing my techniques and learning new things. Like applique.

Styling Notes
Wig of DOOM. The main wig was left unstyled. I made a seperate piece for the top from hair extensions and craft foam. The extentions were super curly and crazy looking so I had to straighten them by hand and glue them down until they were essentially tubes. The process alone took along time as it took several coats before they cooperated with me. I than hotglued the ends into the craft foam head piece and attached clips to the botton of it all and poked it through the top of the wig. Than carefully reinforced it with wires so as to make sure it didnt fall off.
Wig Review
Not heat resistant and tangles a bit but thats to be expected. Otherwise I love the color and everything!
