Construction Details:

Since this was my first attempt of tackling a home-made costume, my mother was a big help! Although all the patterns were made by me, my mother really did help me bring it all together. Prior to this, I was only accustomed to hand sewing and lacked experience with more elaborate projects. She definitely taught me a lot throughout the production of the project.

Based on the reference photos I used, I decided to go with cerulean satin, silver satin ribbon border parts of the costume, and black satin for the cris-crossed ribbons. I will admit, it was a pain to work with satin since it required quite a bit of ironing, but it was worth it.

The patterns on the armlets and boot covers were spray painted on and the stencil used was kindly provided by http://www.hellduck.deviantart.com/.
