About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I was excited to finally get to make the Yasogami girls' uniform from scratch! The top was kind of frankensteined together from a mostly unrelated pattern I had sitting around in my box, with a hand-drafted sailor collar. The top is made of black suiting with a slight stretch, trimmed with yellow grosgrain ribbon, and all white stitching was done by hand with embroidery thread. The Yasogami logo was done with acrylic paint and cleaned up with black pen. The skirt is a heavy wool houndstooth, which I'm hoping to hem and use as the real uniform skirt later (for some P4 GIRL cosplay, gasp, novel concept). My wig is the exact same as I wore for my normal Protagonist cosplay--I purchased two sets of braiding hair from Amphigory in a similar white-silver color, braided them, and tied them into the wiglace with help from my good friend Han-pan. Shoes were borrowed from previous Protagonist cosplay and shinai was purchased.
- Personal Thoughts:
- LOLOLOL this is the most cracktastic cosplay I've done yet. I'm really happy I have such a fun-loving group who was willing to do both srs-bzns P4 cosplay, and then do this, even if it was only in the game for five minutes. Everyone was their respective character from our Investigation Team group at Otakon, only girlified...I still can't believe we got our only male cosplayer, Joey, into Kanji's Marilyn dress. He's a good sport. Our Rise wore her Risette pop idol outfit and our Yukiko went Shadow, too! Sunday at Katsucon in this outfit was hilarious and awesome, including getting sick of waiting for an elevator and getting lost in the back corridors/boiler rooms of the Gaylord. (THIS IS MY KINDA DUNGEON! OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ)
