About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume was intricate, but not overly difficult for me to make. It was my first time working with spandex, but I'm used to making bodysuits by now. Spandex is actually a really easy fabric to work with, I found. The cloak-pants, as I call it, took a few mock-ups to get right. The hard part is where the side drapes over the shoulder, and is patterned with only four pieces. It's actually really fun to wear! I really like his hair color, and it was the first time getting to cosplay someone with blonde hair! And the pointy ears... so good. Overall a great costume to wear, and I was surprised at how many people recognized and got excited about me and my Dio, bluucircles. C:
Personal Thoughts:
Some friends of mine were organizing a group for one of their favorite series ever-- Last Exile. I had heard of it but never seen it, but still, I was casted as Lucciola (willingly, that is. From the beginning, I enjoyed the character designs). I watched the series, and as a whole, it was right up my alley. It is an amazing series that doesn't get enough attention, even if it doesn't make complete sense... And naturally I fell in love with Lucciola, bawww... And am so happy to have gotten to cosplay him with so many other Last Exile fans. It was seriously a fun time.
