Construction Details:

Oh geez, this uniform. Took me long enough to get around to making, but I'm actually pretty okay with the result. I ended up basing it more on the actual manga and anime designs because I liked the way the jacket looked better as opposed to their historically accurate counterparts.

The pants were constructed from scratch, with a pattern, since I would rather not attempt making pants without one. The jacket, including all of the pockets, collar and other attachments was also made from scratch, without a pattern. I drafted all the pieces myself to a custom fit, and it turned out a bit more snug than I'd hoped, but not all that uncomfortable. The jacket also features a split in the back (which is unseen in photos at the moment), functioning invisible button panel (accurate to the manga and anime designs), and a facing on the inside of the jacket. All the pockets and the epaulets also have working buttonholes and are perfectly functional.
