Construction Details:

These were quick costumes made for a duet performance. I could not find a fabric like the jacket, so I went with the thickest (but still appropriate) pink fabric I could find. The jacket has princess seams, a gathered sleeve portion, and the lower sleeve portion, and faux pocket flaps. The collar is made from quilting cotton and blue ribbon sewn on for the stripe - it is sewn directly to the jacket neckline, as are the white cuffs. A pink separating zipper is sewn down the front of the jacket. Gidget made all of the bows out of a nice satin fabric. The front bow attaches over the zipper with dress hooks. The hairbows were sewn and glued onto barrettes. It was hard to find a similar plaid for the skirts. They are more or less circle skirts pleated at the top (but the pleats are not ironed down). Blue bias tape is sewn on for the bottom stripe. Knee socks and Mary Janes complete the look!
