About this Costume
Construction Details:
Jacket, waist cincher and details were done out of red velvet (left over from Eclair!). The Jacket has lace applique on the back, collar and button details. Jacket sleeves are pleated, base is a normal jacket pattern hacked off to the right length. Waist cincher is fully lined, boned and is detailed with pink piping, lace and ribbon; it laces up the back. Corset was one I owned and added pink beads at the bottom. Skirt was from a western saloon girl pattern, but I added the striped panels on the front and back. Fabrics used on the skirt was a pink crimp taffeta, a red/black taffeta, and red patterned silk (?). Hat was made from the same material as the train for the skirt and was emblished with a cameo, lace, ribbon, and crystals. Side ribbons and details were made in to pins that are pinned to the corset. Stockings were purchased, boots I have owned FOREVER, wig was my from my Blind Mag cosplay. Locket was one I owned, cameo earrings and necklace purchased from my work.
Personal Thoughts:
Well, well...
Being my first original design I made sure to use fabrics I love and to just have fun with it. I have been toying with the idea of making an Emilie Autumn style/inspired design for yeeeeeaaaars. It just took her touring in the US finally to motivate me to actually do it. EA's style is very unique, but defined by corsets, lace, stockings and stripes all mushed together in a Victorian/Lolita/crazy kind of way. What can I say but it is crazy and I love it. One of my fav outfits to date for sure!
