Construction Details:

Oh Kamikirimusi, and your long long name. THis was made to accompany IWFHellsing's Sophitia for Otakon 2009. We had a great shoot planned with Elemental, and decided to go all out on the costumes! The kimono is black linen with red linen appliqued on and then BUTTON HOLE stitched down. it's fully lined, and closed with hook and eye closures. the obi, i based on the artbook design and went with a light purple casa satin, and then appliqued and once again BUTTON HOLE STITCHED down all the tan and coral colored petals. the bow has tulle and plastic canvas in it so it stays poofy. i engineered a pair of legwarmers with zippers and flexible strips, a friend did the hand prints. perhaps the most interesting concoction of supplies went into her Kanbotou, seeing as the base is a POOL NOODLE, covered with foam core, foamies, model magic, and a baseball bat. overall the costume was a ton of fun and SUPER comfortable!
