Worn to Animazement 2008

This was somewhat of a spur of the moment costume. I wasn't planning on cosplaying, and I was only attending on Saturday. But I saw the image and had to do it.

Both the white and blue parts are standard twill (one of my favorite fabrics to work with). I used a Matrix like jacket pattern for the base jacket and modified the top portion for the shoulder part. I had to remake the shoulder part because it came out too wide the first time. There is a blue undershirt that attaches to the white shirt sleeves underneath but only my friend Kiki knows that since she saw me change. The pants were made and then modified to taper towards the ankles. I made them a little too tight so kneeling was an issue.

The boots were also made. I took a pair of lace up white boots, cut them short, and then made the boot covers. It was my first time making boot covers so they aren't perfect by any means. I attached them once with hot glue; after realising that it would hold for a whole day, I took them apart and attached them with caulk instead.
