Construction Details:

This was a labor of love and heartache. The costume was completed in less than a week while trying to move out of my house. My good friend Selena wanted me to cosplay with her (she was Shinku) and did an amazing thing for me -- sent me all the blue fabric and lace used in this costume. She also gave me her old Hinoto (from X) wig and styled it for me for this costume. The white under-dress is one of the most amazing things I've ever created and was done in one morning (go figure, you can't see it). The blue dress and skirt took about two days to make, and thank you to my wonderful fiance who created the pattern for the skirt... it is perfect Phi. Finally, the wings were done in about an hour and a half at the hotel on Friday... all with hot glue and electrical tape. Most people never even knew. I wore this costume on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Later that afternoon I recieved a phone call that one of my cats had gotten really sick and was at the vet. I rushed to the kitty doctor only to spend the last few moments with my cat, Toes. The vet assured me there was no way I could have known he was sick, and that it was sudden liver failure that caused his death. But I still blame myself, that if I wasn't focused on the costume, the convention, moving, or a billion other things, maybe I would have noticed something. Toes was always my sewing buddy, sitting on fabric while I cut it out and curling up at my feet when I sewed. So for what it's worth, this costume is dedicated to his memory. I also haven't worn it since then, though I think I would like to do a proper photo shoot with it one day.
