About this Costume
Construction Details:
I really loved Blanc Neige's character since Shining Tears and when I saw the designs for Shining Wind, I knew I had to finally cosplay as her!
I used white and purple casa satin for the dress and drafted the pattern by hand. The patterning took me a little while because of the asymetrical hemline, which meant that every piece was different, but the mock-up turned out fantastic. I added the swirly designs onto the front of the dress using Heat n' Bond and some of the other details are sewn on ribbon.
The black waist cincher is made from a polyester blend and is very structured with lots of boning. The edges are scalloped with a machine stitch.
The gloves and boot covers are made with black Jet Set with Heat n' Bond snowflakes on the gloves and satin-stitched designs on the tops of the boots. The tops of the boots also have foam in them to add to their shape and keep them upright.
The wand is made with a wooden dowel and craft foam, with faceted gems.
Finally, I added a lot of silver wefts to my white wig to give it an overall gray-ish/silver-ish look, like Neige's hair has in the artwork.
