About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Making the jumpsuit was pretty tricky to figure out, but once that was done I had finished 90% of the costume. I was able to find a lovely soft black stretch knit for Medusa's jumpsuit. The symbol on her hood is made of white pvc for contrast, which I heat 'n bonded on.
I made her bracelets out of a thick copper wire from Home Depot that I bent into shape and then spray painted. Because I hate myself and I love tedious thins, I painted fake finger and toe nails with her little green arrow symbols. - Personal Thoughts:
- I loooooove being Medusa. It's my first time cosplaying the villain and I had so much fun being creepy and evil.

- Styling Notes
- I used the FW acrylic ink method to custom dye the wig -- Medusa has a very strange greenish/goldish/grayish hair color and I wanted to try to be as accurate as possible. It's not quite as gray-green as I would like, but I think it works for the costume. After dying the wig, I sewed in a pack of extensions which I dyed along with the base wig to make her little twist thing. The back of the wig was then spiked/flattened out using hairspray/got2b glue (I love that stuff <3). It was a really good learning process for spiking and overall very enjoyable.
