About this Costume
Construction Details:
All the items for this were found in thrift stores and heavily modified beyond recognition, since I did not have the time or the money to start from scratch. (Although it would have been easier to have started from scratch.) The pants were a pair of khaki cargos that I cut in the shape of the color separation on the pants, dyed the top, and sewed back together. The black top had had a few extra details that I had to remove to get the correct look, I also had to cut off the sleeves and re-hem them... as well as add the grey detail around the bottom. The white w/ red shirt was originally a turtleneck shirt that I cut down the front, added the red material to, and sewed in the zipper, as well as the checker detail. I opted to leave the sleeves long on the white because it is winter here, and I do not want to freeze when I wear this to the next con... but they will be the correct length for the next summertime con I attend. The zipper pull was cut out of cardboard with a stencil I made, and carefully covered in foil tape. The wig took nearly 8 hours all time combined... and started out as a Hannah Montana wig... very handy trick for a budgeted cosplay, it was only $9.99, easy to work with, and blended my 'too dark for a blond character features' perfectly to make this possible. (along with the use of yellow halloween makeup with the consistency of paint to lighten up my eyebrows and my hair that didn't want to hide under the wig cap) a nice little trick that i will be using again for certain. The heartless prop was handmade by myself, from a pattern I designed myself.
