Construction Details:

The orange top was made with broadcloth using a scrubs pattern. I made the blue-green long sleeved shirt underneath with a basic pattern. The shorts were originally leggings I purchased, then shortened. I made the bag out of grey twill. For the first several wears, I glued a bunch of brown belts and straps together. I finally got around to making making my own belts for Dragon*Con 2013. The hat is a green shell-shaped top with some poly-fil to give it shape. The helmet was remade each time, usually with some different combination of materials. I've used craft foam, wonderflex, model magic, sculpty light, big rhinestones, furniture tacks, and wire. I used whatever gold and/or bronze spraypaint I had lying around.

Personal Thoughts:

I first wore this at Providence Anime Conference 2008. I remade the helmet and belts for PAX East 2011, then forgot the costume at home. Every time I've worn this costume I've remade the helmet, because it gets damaged every time I brought it home. I swear, I will make a really great one some day out of more durable materials. This is by far my favorite costume.
