Know of any small, green, slightly furry characters? XD
Heyla, peeps. So, I’m not making a costume for a convention… (Not that I wouldn’t absolutely LOVE to go to one, it just seems impossible to find anything in my area. *cries*) I just felt like taking on a sewing project. Since I’m homeschooled and have no deadline, that leaves me lots of time and I really want to do a good job on it. So… I’d like a few ideas of who would work well on me.
I’m quite short, with brown eyes and long brown hair. (Very long.) It's probably best for everyone if I don't show a lot of skin. -_-;
I wouldn’t mind crossplaying… if you can think of any short, long-haired, busty guys. Likely, I know. (Wow… I wrote a lot…) Anyhoo, thank you! Yoroshiku!
P.S. I'll try to put up some pictures in a minute...

Wow, thanks!
Ummm... I'd rather stay away from the more popular characters, like Tohru.
Ukyo hadn't even occured to me!
It's a good idea...
After all, I get to wave around a giant spatula thing. XD
And I really need to get around to watching Sailor Moon.
It's like, a crime that I haven't seen it yet. ^_^;;
I don't even know what it's about...
Thank you, Andichan!
Any more ideas?

understandable. but that was my favorite of the three for you ^^SolitaryKiwi wrote:Wow, thanks!

yes! giant spatulas are so fun! (I just tried okinomiyaki for the first time when I went to san francisco last weekend and it was sooo good!)SolitaryKiwi wrote:Ukyo hadn't even occured to me!

It is kind of an anime crime to not have seen any of sailor moon.SolitaryKiwi wrote:And I really need to get around to watching Sailor Moon.

ummm...for more ideas maybe Kikyo from Inu Yasha? Kagome is popular but I haven't seen too many of kikyo.

Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku:

Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina:

Mutsumi Otohime (also from Love HIna):
I couldn't find any great pics of her but here's one of her - she's all the way on the left.

I'm traveling all the way across the country next week, maybe I should make a point of getting some okinomiyaki when I'm in San Francisco...
It sounds good!
Kikyou probably appeals to me the most out of these...
(Though blue hair is quite appealing! XP)
Poor thing, always getting beat on by Kagome fans.
Where's the love? ^_^
Plus, I'd probably enjoy making a more traditional costume.
(I'm secretly a history geek.
Shh, don't tell anybody.)
Soo... I think I'll tentatively settle on Kikyou, but I'm always open to any suggestions!

P.S. I got a post from the famous Chouji Warrior! :0
*is extremely flattered*

(This post has nothing to do with anything and is purely conversational. ^_^)
Yay! Rumiko Takahashi!
I just went through this whole Sesshoumaru phase... because he kicks booty in a way that is almost ridiculous.
And... I have a secret desire to cosplay Kagura.
<.< >.>
I cried when she died!
But I guess it had to happen.
Rumiko... makes really interesting and appealing worlds, I think.
I might have to go back and re-read a lot of her stuff when I finish Code Geass.
Which is currently making me all emotional.
I'm a big softie for stories. ^_^
Why is it that everybody tends to complain about Clamp's art style? *confused*

dangit! *adds Kagura to to-do list of cosplays*
yeah, my husband luuurves sesshomaru and inevitably I will have to make a costume for him. -_-0 I will probably die in the process.
I like rumiko takahashi's stuff because she is very good at creating convincing characters and her storylines are all very creative. plus, each of her stories is like a whole different genre! the only one I think she hasn't done is like something super sci-fi-ish. The only thing that upsets me about her is sometimes it seems like her stories repeat story arcs and unnecessarily lengthen themselves. Ranma didn't even get a proper anime ending!
I could see why people don't like the over-exaggerated-ness of clamp, but I personally love anything by them. especially when you look at how their style is very distinct but has become more refined. (i.e. magic knights vs. tsubasa or chobits)
I also love anything by yuu watase (i.e. fushigi yugi, alice 19th, ceres), but I love rumiko a tiny bit more.
(hopefully nobody will be upset by our purely conversational post being in a somewhat irrelevant spot ^^0)

Mm-mm. Sesshoumaru seems really hard to cosplay well.
I mean, armor and a fluffy thing. *shakes head* And a patented inu-taiyoukai deathglare. Not too many people can live up to that.
I am always impressed with Rumiko Takahashi's settings and characters, and then... the story drags on and I feel like things could have finished off better.
I totally agree with you there.
However... if you're into fanfics, that leaves great openings for writing your own stuff with her characters. ^^
And Clamp... I think one of the things I like about it is how even when it's light-hearted, there's still this feel of... gothic-ish-ness? Maybe?
It gives it some weight.
And maybe what I just said only makes sense to me. ^_^;;
And their plots are so complicated!
But I can understand how certain drawing styles bug people.
Personally, overly shoujo-style stuff annoys me. *shrugs*
I'm reading/watching a lot of Clamp right now, in my free time. (Yeah, right! Freetime?!)
Between Tsubasa Chronicle, Schrödinger's Lion, and Code Geass... phew!
But I'm enjoying it far too much to stop! -_-;
(Not to mention it's hard on my non-existant fifteen-year-old's budget. Gack.)
Yuu Watase!! <3<3!! I think her work has improved a lot over time as well.
I like the idea of Fushigi Yuugi a lot, but I'm really enjoying Genbu Kaiden!
Though, I guess we know it will have a sad ending. Oh, well.
I borrowed someone else's Alice 19th, and she needed them back quickly.
As a result, I read it like, all at once.
(Pulled an all-nighter, and didn't do my homework. Bad, bad Kiwi!)
And now I don't remember it very well. :c
Isn't she writing something else now? I don't know...
Annnd... I wrote waay too much. X)
It feels sort of naughty to have a conversation here doesn't it?
Well, everyone should have a bit of excitement in their life!
Yes! (Though I suppose it is rather lame to get a thrill from posting in the wrong forum... oh, well.
)
Only two people replied, anyway.

I see what you mean about Clamp.
Somehow, I didnt realize code geass was by clamp. I was thinking that I wanted to read/watch that one. Just goes to show how much I love clamp, that even though I don't know a certain show is by them, I still want to see it.
I wasn't too crazy about genbu kaiden. I felt like it was copying fy too much. but I only read the first 3, so maybe I just didn't get far enough into it. *shrug*
I too was borrowing alice 19th, but then I graduated h.s. and didn't see that person on a daily basis anymore. lol ^^0 one of these days I'll go back and either buy it or take a couple of trips to barnes and noble. yuu watase wrote absolute boyfriend and imadoki, neither of which I have read (it was like "here's a tiny bit of yuu watase in the form of fy being translated each month" then BOOM! 5 new series by her). according to wiki, she is doing some work called "sakura gari" but I haven't heard anything about that. seriously, what I have been doing lately is catching up on the "popular" animes since I don't have a lot of anime friends that I hang out w/anymore. So when I hear a lot of good things about melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, I look it up on youtube. And chances are, I will like it and get sucked in. Hence, I have been catching up with death note, MOHS, annnnd....I'm sure something else I can't remember.
Not a fan of Naruto, tho'.
yes, we are very devious.
