About this Costume
Construction Details:
Everything you see for this costume was crafted and sewn by me, Kagiri. Yoko's shorts and bikini top were made from black costume pleather. I used an old bikini top of mine to cut out the triangle pattern for the top. The flames on Yoko's bikini were made from red costume vinyl. I drew the pattern, cut out, and sewed them on myself. The gloves were also made from black costume vinyl. And for the bracers, I bought bangles from Forever XXI and covered them in the same black costume vinyl i used for the gloves... glued on with E-6000 glue. The "gems" on Yoko's bracers were made from bouncy balls painted over with a golden basics acrylic paint. (took about 5 - 7 coats of paint). The belt i found at Macy's. It was originally black and had three rows of pyramid shape studs, so i painted the entire belt white and took out the middle row of studs. Yoko's neck warmer was made of pink and white felt and maroon coloured ribbon and zipper. The boots i bought offline. They originally had pink stitching on them so i painted over those (took 3 coats of paint for each side of the boot), and sketched out and painted on the red flames myself with basics acrylic paint (also took 3 coats of paint). The zipper pulls and zipper teeth on Yoko's boots were made from Foamies craft foam and glued on with E-6000 glue. My friend Becky helped me make Yoko's skull hair piece out of sculpty... then coloured in with black permanent marker. Yoko's chopsticks were made from obviously super thick and long plastic chopsticks painted with the same golden basics acrylic paint as the gems on the bracers. For Yoko's wig i originally bought a long wig from cosworx.com then found out its better to buy a medium length wig then add length to it. So... to get the wig into a high ponytail, i cut my original wig and bought a punky XL henna red from cosworx. I then attached the punky XL to a banana hair clip and clipped it to my original wig. And last but not least my boyfriend hand crafted Yoko's gun for me from scratch using PVC pipe, wood, and fiber class. This is my first cosplay with more to come.
