Back in February 2006, ZiggyB made a post on his LJ about these awesome character designs he'd found for a game called Ibara. Meidi was so cute, and I immediately wanted to cosplay her, even though I knew nothing about the game or the character. (I know a bit more now, but I've still never played the game.)This was a pretty challenging costume for me to make. I decided to lengthen Meidi's top into a dress, because I didn't really want to wear just a thong in public. I used a McCalls pattern (M4455) to make the top, then added a skirt. I'm very fond of the topstitching I did, even though I'm the only one who knows it's there. Attaching all the trim was a pain and a half.My favorite part of the costume is either the hair ornament or the lace on the shrug. I am missing Meidi's improbable, impossible ponytail. I tried many time to attach extensions to the wig, and just ended up failing repeatedly. I'm still very happy with how I realized her design.
