About this Costume
Construction Details:
First build first - Alondite was cardboard and bondo, with tons of sanding. The armor is pretty much all cardboard and bondo, thus it was heavy and wasn't sturdy. First time working with bondo too so this project basically was a giant educational experience and self learning.
Second build - The armor around the waist is sealed EVA foam. All other armor piece are Sintra. Alondite is mostly plywood with the handle being a dowel and some details are either MDF or Sintra. The shoulders are bolted in and can be removed for shipping, and the outfit is completely sturdy (I've had someone run at me full speed and knocked over by not ducking the shoulders with no damage to the outfit).
Personal Thoughts:
Will you flee? How appropriate. Tuck tail and run, child of Gawain! It is what dogs do best, after all. I like how you tremble with fear at the realization that you are no match for me. It suits you.
My first real armor build that I learned so much from, well, the first time I made it. I made it two times (2011 and 2013) and both were similar forms but totally different materials.
