American Cosplay Paradise is proud to kick off 2008 with three cosplay contests: Devil May Cry, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and Tsubasa Chronicle!
Devil May Cry:
After being a smash hit among gamers everywhere, the Devil May Cry anime is making its way to American shores courtesy of ADV Films. Dante is a man for hire, specializing in eliminating Demons from the world - for the right price, of course. The show does not require prior knowledge of the games, but fans will definitely love seeing cameos of Lady, Trish, and especially Dante himself. With animation handled by Madhouse, both diehard series fans and newcomers alike will enjoy some stylish animated action and gorgeous artwork!
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann:
Drilling to the hearts of Japanese fans everywhere, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is the latest creation of Gainax, known for powerhouse titles such as Gunbuster and Neon Genesis Evangelion. The show focuses on Simon, a human living underground who one day stumbles upon a small robot named Lagann. When his village is attacked by monsters known as Beastman, he unlocks the power of Lagann, and thus begins his adventures from deep inside the Earth, to the surface, and eventually, to the heavens itself! Hot-blooded super robot action combines with an epic plot that spans the universe to form something that no anime fan should miss!
Tsubasa Chronicle:
Hardly needing any introduction, studio Clamp's tale of Syaoran and Sakura crossing worlds has enthralled both anime and manga fans alike, thanks to a successful adaptation by Bee Train. Celebrating the release of the last volume of Season 1 this month, American Cosplay Paradise (ACP) has teamed up with Funimation and Del Rey to hold a character cosplay battle! The turnout for the last Tsubasa Chronicle cosplay contest was great, so ACP is expanding it this year, with individual character prizes as well as a best overall costume.
It's a great time to be an anime fan, with such great shows making their appearance on US shores. ACP is allowing fans to show off their cosplay skills for bragging rights and prizes generously donated by ADV and Funimation - enter today!
