Help on a keyboard LCD interface idea

I've been wanting something like an interface for a robot project cosplay project. Basically, I'm gonna be mute but needed something to communicate with. I thought maybe something like a small LCD or an Arduino screen attached to a keyboard, Not sure and wanted help about it
