Miki's Hat - Shugo Chara. Help?

So I'm trying to get a hat just like Miki's from Shugo Chara, for a future cosplay, which has been more difficult to find than I expected.

I do not have the means to purchase a premade one online so I am hoping someone could give me suggestions on how I could possibly make one or perhaps alter a hat to make it look like hers. Her hat reminds me of a really puffy beret crossed with a newsboy hat. . .any advice?
