Sephiroth's Sword... UGH! I need ideas!!

Post by Sakura_Efreet » Sun Jun 25, 2006 10:00 pm

My boyfriend and I are cosplaying as Cloud and Sephiroth for AnimeFest (Dallas, 9/01-04), and even though he has made cosplay weapons and such before and I'm usually pretty crafty, we're both at a loss for ideas of how to make this sword as life like as possible!!

Here is a kinda funky example in case you have no idea what I am speaking of:

ANY help is appriciated, but I'd like to add that we are both two teens who are on a tight budget.... ^^;;;;;. Thanks for looking!
If I were a teacup, I'd be juice! ^o^!

I is a con addict... however, my next con is up in the air right now.

If you go to www.trueswords.com you can get both swords. If you don't want real swords...then ask someone else.

Yeah, this is for cosplaying purposes, and so far I haven't attended a convention that would let you bring in a REAL weapon- though that would be cool, I know we are all a little bit safer because of the policy. ^^;. Thanks anyways!

^^. Thanks though!

I was Zack... The ONLY zack at Ohiyo 6, also, the AMV artist of 5, so I'm not sure when you saw me...

Anyway, either mold or carved, go with a curve on the blade. a straight blade looks dumb.

I could make you one out of wood.

Take a plank of pine wood and get a semi circle drawing on it for the blade. only a little curve will do it. cut it square, and use a dremal to make the blade. round off the handle with a wood Rasp/File or sand paper. use paint, wrap, and glue a bouken hand gaurd.

Can somebody kick that user off? All the posts from him/her/it have been all about 'working from home'. Nothing to do with cosplay.

Im planning Seph's sword as well.

Im going to try using Wonderflex (its a thermoplastic you can heat and mold, you can purchase it at cosplaysupplies.com)

Im actually taking a plastic katana I already have, and going to attempt to basically add more length to it using the wonderflex. Perhaps a piece that will slide directly onto the current blade, this way it still has sturdy support inside.
