Making a .Hack outfit

Hi,I need some tips on making a Natsume costume.I'm sure almost any kind of tip (on costumes/sewing) will help,for I've never really made a costume before.

Some help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Hey everyone, I just got an idea on how to make part of the costume. I'm not sure if it'll work, so let me know if its a good idea or not,ok?

Well, I was thinking about buying a blue dress that's about the length of her outfit and get some matching blue shorts and sew the designs on the dress.Is that a good idea or not?

And I'm still not sure how to make the boots and gloves yet,but I'm still workin' on it.^^;;;
