Post by LunarAnimeQn79 » Sun Aug 13, 2006 3:53 pm

I really need help with it since I'm not good at making victorian dresses.

Series: Witch Hunter Robin

What kind of help do you need exactly? I'd suggest finding a pattern and altering it. The dresses design is really not very complicated... In fact it's not really victorian either, it just very goth. There are great patterns in simplicity.com, or mcalls.com that can be altered or even taken as they are.

But if I knew exactly what kind of help you wanted I might be able to give better advice.

Well I really haven't made an full length dress before and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to construct the 1st layer since it covers the whole body. And I think i'm going to need a pretticoat to go under it too.

Well what I used was two different pieces for the dress.
I used this pattern for the shirt, but I used a skirt I already have and drapped the same material from the shirt over it. I was browsing a site and the girl said she used a wedding skirt pattern, which is a really good idea. Maybe search around for that.
And the overdress can be made from a modified dress pattern.

You make a full length dress the same way you'd make a short dress, only longer.

Thanks alot Yasin!! The cheerleading top was a good idea, I'll just reverse it and I already found a pattern for the skirt. Now the only thing I have make or buy is a pretticoat.

(PS Death Note roxs)
