You could instead use a dowel rod. PVC is really durable though. It's what I used to make Eternal moon's staff.

Meh, people have called me fat when I cosplay anyway.
Heck yeah, I'd cosplay while preggers (not that I ever intend to have children so I don't see this happening lol) But I'd want to cos a character that's baby-laden in canon.

I'd just buy a wig on that color. Easier than dying since they're all over the 'net. That fabric looks like it could work. okay, so I have a friend making a Lina Inverse costume and she had a simliar problem. This is how we solved it We got a cheap plastic hat that had a very round top to it. Tifa's costume may look like shiny material in the action figure/maquette, but it certainly doesn't look shiny in the movie.
