About this Costume
Construction Details:
Here's a first look at my Sadi-Chan cosplay debuted at Anime Los Angeles 2011. I missed a lot of details due to time constraint so I'm hoping to improve by adding the collar, side straps, and center studs that I missed due to all the rushing. That said, I'm very pleased with how it came out! Hair: 2 wigs sewn together w/ some foam by Chloe Doan aka Sushi Monster! The horns are just 2 styrofoam cones cut down a bit and painted with acryllic Cape: Because ALA was in 55 degree weather, The cape was made of fleece and flannel for warmth. Top/Pants: both made of Taffeta. The big question was how the top held everything in. The answer is fashion tape which is most easily located at your local Joannes or online. The most important thing to remember when using fashion tape is to clean the skin really well. Otherwise, the tape will lift off your skin and your chest will pop out. Also, the top connects under the scarf with a central button. This button in combo with the tape helped create the under cleavage I managed to get with a B-cup. Shoes: The shoes are made from a regular pair of shoes that were painted with fuschia acryllic and topped with Model Magic. For the most part I had no problems at all with it. The 3 spikes on the strap area did fall off one by one, but easily hot glued back on. I'll be adding nails to the bottom to make sure they don't fall off Staff: Carved from soft styrofoam and painted. It was glued to a cardboard base.
