About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume took a lot of imagination. And when I say that, I really mean it! We couldn't find any patterns that matched the Little Sister's outfits. So, we ended up combining over three different patterns: An Alice in Wonderland dress, a Wizard of Oz dress, and a little girls dress. Which, honestly, made this costume complicated. Mom and I constantly joked about how it looked simple, but was probably one of the hardest costumes we've ever done. SHE WAS SO RIGHT. Anywaaaay, the white waist piece was created using dinner places to get an even curve and extended down to make the 'apron'. See? Imaginatiooooooon! As for the syringe, it's totally my favorite part! After purchasing an old gas pump off of Ebay, we used the Volpin prop's tutorial as a guide. I say 'guide' because we definitely didn't have access to all of the materials and tools that he used. So, we did what we could and made up the rest. Heh. The needle of the gun was made using a knitting needle and the 'tube' it juts out of was a dowel rod. The bottle holding the Eve was a frappuccino bottle and the red Eve was jello. It was then painted with acrylic paint and weathered with acrylic paint.
