About this Costume
Construction Details:
No sorry this isn't Princess Ai. It could be though. So I made this outfit plus Claymore from the same game for my Jon (bf). *No patterns used* The tanktop was serged then hemmed made of stretch. Skirt- The layers were all ruffled by hand and sewn in by hand. Pencil thin black skirt was stretched over my dress form at the largest hip measurement and then the layers were each sewn in individually. Fun. The layers were all serged and left un-hemmed because I wanted it to look unkept since Fleurette's outfit is very french/gothic looking, it was a personal opinion. I wanted the skirt to be able to stretch, and it does. Its very comfy. Underneath the skirt I fashioned a quick simple 5" petticoat to fluff the bottom layer out since it was weighted down by the corset and top layers. Corset- MinakoKitty helped me by draping muslin for me to make a pattern to my size. Never done it before, draping seems like lots of fun but a pain. Anyway, I used a the heaviest weight of non fusible interfacing and then red sports nylon for the lining so it would move easily and not pull/move the fabric underneath it. Used a red stretch (dur) pleather for the front. Its a tad bit wrinkly on the sides than I prefer but for a first timer I think its awesome. Shoes, thigh highs, arm warmer (modified by moi), and jewelery were bought.
Personal Thoughts:
I love how it came out, honestly. I felt so french in it and my chest was screaming "LOOK OUT, HOOTERS ARE COMING THROUGH". So that was a super mood booster in itself. Extremely comfortable. I love this wig so much.
