Didn't they do this same skit at CTcon last year? I think it got Best in Show there...

They in fact did do it at connecticon last year, minus the backdrop and puppet strings and a character. It did get best in show there as well

I'm not sure if they won BiS at CTcon. I don't think they had it last year. For sure though, aside from some slight differences (it was shorter and there was no Watanuki this time around) it's the same thing. Shame on you guys ;_;

Can someone pm me the name of the background music? It's really pretty awesome, and I can't find it using google.

Saki- There was nothing in the AnimeNEXT rules about entering something that hadn't been entered before, and apparently they were upfront about it with the judges, which made them uneligible for anything besides an honorable mention (which they got based on the cleaned up choreography and new props and set piece). Ooshiny, the bg is "Ramalama (Bang Bang)" by Roisin Murphy.

Gale- That's good that they were honest! I mean, it would have been silly to not be honest, when they were so well known at CTcon about it. I just feel like it should have been done as an exhibition skit rather than as an actual competition skit. It's a little unfair to both themselves and the other performers. That's just my opinion, and putting that aside, I DO love their new props and choreography.

Sorry for the nothing comment. Anyway, I was the Moro (white dress) in this skit (yes i was sick so my dancing was off) and we did tell everyone that we had already won with a different version of this skit, we are not cheaters. However, the con director thought everyone at the con would want to see our skit still. We didn't know that we could ask to do exibition, which we prob would have asked if we had known about it. We also didnt know doing a modified skit at a different con is a social no-no, but we are sorry and it will not happen again. Thank you all for your lovely comments. We'll have an original skit for everyone next year! We're also doing something brand new for c-con next month so come watch! Thanks again.

I for one loved seeing it again with the improvements (and i said it to you in person - I was the maid guy). Some people just are jealous methinks. I want to ask any naysayer if they put forth a skit on stage would it be half as good as anything that's been put on at cons. Granted this year's masquerade was kind of lacking, its encouraging to know that more people are being brave and doing something they enjoy. You only get better in time and with practice!
