Construction Details:

I guess you would say this is the first outfit I actually made from the series. I started off with the skirt and then recently finish the jacket. I just didn't have at time to wear it until now. i was hoping for an autumn photoshoot but that didn't fall through. lol

nFirst the skirt, it's a two circle skirts sewed together. The first layer is the main layer, which I pained the roses on. I made a stencil for the actual flower and then free handed the stem and leaves. Each rose is slightly different because of that and even the stencil was just a basic shape so when I painted it, it was slightly different too. Every rose is hand painted btw. I decided to line the main body because the paint kind of went through and that bothered me. lol The second layer is the white layer. I was originally going to make it two different skirts but figured having one skirt overall would be easier. The white layer is attached to the main skirt through the waist band. I also realized that sewing the zipper would be different with both layers so it is only attached to the main layer. The second layer just has a gap where the zipper is to help me wear it. lol

nSecond, the jacket is a little more complicated then the ones I've made before so it was an interesting experience to make. I think the fabric I chose for it was a little too light weight but oh well, I couldn't find anything else in the right colour. The jacket is made out of a few panels - the top panel, the bottom panel that needed ruffling and the the front panel where the buttons are. The sleeves are self-explanatory as they are just normal sleeves. I sewed the top panel together first to be able to gauge how much extra fabric I needed for the ruffled panel. I then added extra inches to both sides for that panel and hoped I will be able to ruffle it enough to my liking. I wasn't able to do that actually so the ruffles are small but there isn't anything I could really do for that. lol I'm glad that I didn't have to recut these panels as it would have been a waste of fabric. I sewed both panels together and then added an extra top stitch to secure the ruffles down. After that, sewing the jacket together was fine and then the problem came with the fur collar. I originally wanted to make it detachable but I wasn't able to come up with an idea so I just sewed it onto the colour collar I made. I kind of regret that but oh well?

nLastly, the bow and flower was left. The bow is made in two pieces - one piece that ties around the collar and acts like the tails of the bow and another piece for the bow portion itself. I sewed two pieces of ribbon across it for the design. The flower is a fabric flower and my first one too. It didn't come out as nicely as I hoped it would (because I serged the fabric and you can see those serge lines) but I'm quite happy with it. I added lace to the bottom to make it a little different I guess. lol

nI'm not accurate with the socks because I didn't want to attempt to make those weird socks. I wore fake thigh highs, which are actually stockings. That wasn't the original plan but it worked out in the end. lol

Personal Thoughts:

I played Love Live first and wasn't really hooked until more of my friends were talking about it. I then watched the anime (both seasons) and it got me. I'm pretty much in Love Live hell... lol Maybe it isn't as strong as it was a few months ago but I still love these girls!

nUmi definitely got a hold on me because she's pretty similar to me so I had to cos her. lol
