About this Costume
Construction Details:
My bodysuit and glove are all made of 4-way stretch vinyl. I used metallic silver for my joints, matte white for my glove, and matte black for the rest. My legs are a separate piece I wear underneath a leotard that closes with a heavy duty invisible zipper in the back. My shoes are 6" wedges that annihilated my feet that I bought online.

My helmet is made of thick eva foam with thin craft foam for the chin strap. All butterfly wings (helmet, wrist, and skirt) are made of 1mm sintra that I painstakingly cut with an exacto blade. The red is all red plastic sheeting I bought from the art supply store sandwiched between two layers of sintra for a seamless look. The black butterfly details are also sintra, attached with tacks so they can swivel. The wing on my wrist attaches with snaps and all of the rest (on my helmet and the skirt) attach with powerful magnets for easy removal/mobility. The mask swivels forward to cover my face as necessary.
Personal Thoughts:
Metis was a forever dream of mine to cosplay and I finally managed to wrangle some friends into doing a robo girls group! Metis is by far the most uncomfortable and expensive cosplay I've ever made; she was also the most fragile, hence her retired status.
