About this Costume
Construction Details:
NAKAMAAAA, I started by designing my own fabric in Photoshop to get printed by Spoonflower for this cosplay. I cut the capris based on a pair of jean capris that fit me really well, and created a belt out of interfacing, orange upholstery fabric, and white roping with a real functioning buckle as a means of holding the pants up (since there’s no obvious closure or fly in the art).
rn
rnI cut each piece of fabric for the shirt on an angle to maximize the stretch of the cotton sateen, and then stretched the fabric as far as I could while putting it through my serger’s rolled hem function to achieve the “lettuce hem” effect in the art. After making tank straps out of spare fabric and piping, I put the whole thing together.
rn
rnThe hat was purchased, and I cut small slits through which to thread yellow roping. I painted the shoes, made the arm piece out of craft foam, and cut a length of white vinyl for fringe. The arm piece is held onto my arm by elastic.
