Construction Details:

I've got a writeup on another device so I will add to this later. rnrn- The jacket was deceptively difficult because in 14 years of cosplaying I have never had to accommodate a large chest in a form fitting garment. As such I made many fit adjustments but still am not perfectly satisfied. It was a good learning experience!rnrn- I am very proud of my rose embroidery! I spent 3-4 hours just digitizing it. No one touch functions for this embroidery nerd ^^;.rnrn- The armor was made by my boyfriend and cosplay partner Brian, and the sword was kindly lent to me by Elrowiel who cosplayed Beatrix beautifully before me!

Personal Thoughts:

This was a big step out of my comfort zone, but really there's no one else in FFIX I'd want to be. I always gravitate towards the strong ladies! But I'm glad I did it because it was an amazing experience being a part of Cirque du Cosplay's Summoning of Alexander skit!

Styling Notes

I found a great, easy to understand Youtube tutorial on Beatrix's curls and tried my own hand at it. I think I pulled it off pretty well, considering wigs are usually my downfall! The hair is simply wrapped and glued around cardboard tubes. It wasn't difficult to do, just time consuming. I did use teasing and hairspray at the hairline to style it before doing the curls.
